When the Industrial Estate was established in the south of Vadodara City in
Makarpura, all the industries situated in this estate had various problems.
Hence for the purpose to represent the interests of the entrepreneurs and to
take up the problems collectively, there was necessity to organize an
Association and thus was born "Makarpura Industrial Estte Association" in the
year 1969. Initially the office was in the Building of Vadodara Municipal
COrporation. As the saying goes "UNITY IS STRENGTH", the Association introduced
the Membership scheme and the strength then was only 100 members.
In the year 1976 the name had been changed to "MAKARPURA INDUSTRIAL AREA
ASSOCIATION" & few changes had been also made for the purpose to include
Industrial Units situated outside Makarpura Industrial Estate.
As the Association became more and more popular among trade and industrial
circle, other industries in the activities, and thus in the year 1981 again the
name has been changed to "VADODARA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY". Few
changes had also been made in the constitution with an objective to spread the
wings of VCCI at District Level.
VCCI STRUCTURE :
Executive Committee comprises of 5 elected bearers
(President, Vice President, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Jt. Secretary and Hon.
Treasurer), 11 elected Members, 14 co-opted members with operational terms of
two years.
VCCI PURPOSE :
To provide most effetive contribution to the cause of Small and Medium Scale
Industries, both economically and socially.
